How to Set a Monthly Budget

  1. Navigate to OpenAI Settings: Log in to your OpenAI account and go to the Settings section.
  2. Access Limits: In the left sidebar, click on "Limits".
  3. Set Monthly Budget: Under the "Usage limits" section, find the "Monthly Budget" setting. Enter a reasonable maximum amount (e.g., $50 or $100) that you are comfortable spending per month.
  4. Save Changes: Confirm and save your new limit.

Once you reach this limit within a calendar month, API requests will be blocked until the next month or until you increase the limit. This provides a safety net against runaway costs.
